MAG540 – High-performance 4K STBs with a brand new ARM Cortex-A35 CPU
MAG540 and MAG540w3 are Linux STBs powered by the quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 CPU with a brand new Amlogic S905Y4 chipset. This hardware makes the model much more powerful than the legacy STBs. The devices ensure easy and smooth playback of content in all popular modern video formats, including 4K. With the new Amlogic S905Y4-B chipset and ARM Cortex-A35 CPU, the device is 25% more powerful than the legacy MAG set-top boxes. The MAG540/540w3 hardware ensures a fast interface and smooth playback.
It plays 4K HDR video at 60 fps
MAG540/540w3 supports AV1 and HEVC codecs to make sure the device plays 4K content without overloading the network2 While the H.264 codec requires 32 Mbit/sec to process such video, HEVC requires only 16 Mbit/sec.3

The set-top box supports both wired and wireless connections. The Ethernet port provides data transfer speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. The Wi-Fi module operates in two bands with data transfer speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s in 2.4 GHz mode and 550 Mbit/s in 5 GHz4 mode
USB ports for connecting peripherals
MAG540/540w3 is equipped with two USB 2.0 ports. They allow connecting wired and wireless devices, such as keyboards, mice, memory cards, etc. Peripherals make it easier to type and use the browser.
Ergonomic remote control
MAG540/540w3 comes with a state-of-the-art IR remote control with customizable IR systems. If other devices with an infrared receiver (air conditioner or TV set) are located nearby, the remote control can be configured in a way that doesn’t interfere with their operation.
The remote has five programmable buttons. Copy the IR codes from the buttons of other devices onto them and control the devices in the room from one remote control. Remote control training will take no more than one minute.
